At Restore Health & Pain Treatment Group, your safety is our top priority. These FAQs explain our philosophy and help set clear expectations for care.
Why don’t you prescribe opioids to everyone who asks?
- Opioids are powerful medications that carry serious risks, including addiction, overdose, and dangerous interactions with alcohol or other substances. We only prescribe them when the benefits clearly outweigh the risks and when supported by evidence-based guidelines for your specific diagnosis.
What happens if I use alcohol while on opioids?
- Combining alcohol with opioids significantly increases the risk of severe respiratory depression, sedation, and overdose. For your safety, we do not prescribe opioids to patients who are actively using alcohol or other sedating substances.
I feel like my pain is severe enough for stronger medication. What are my options?
- We understand chronic pain is challenging. We offer many non-opioid and integrative treatments including osteopathic manipulative treatment, acupuncture, physical therapy, targeted injections, and appropriate non-opioid medications. Our team will work with you to create a personalized plan that maximizes relief while protecting your long-term health.
Can I get a specific opioid or dosage I’ve had before?
- All medication decisions are based on current medical standards, your health history, and safety. We do not prescribe based on requested amounts or previous prescriptions from other providers if they fall outside safe guidelines.
Why can’t you respond to my Google review?
- Due to strict HIPAA privacy laws, we are not allowed to confirm or discuss any patient’s care in a public setting. Responding could violate federal regulations. Please contact us privately through the website chat, patient portal, or phone for any care-related concerns.
What should I do if I disagree with my treatment plan?
- We encourage open conversation! Schedule a follow-up visit, message us through the patient portal, or use the “Chat with representative” feature on our website. We’re happy to review your case and explore alternative options.
Do you treat patients who want to reduce or stop opioids?
- Yes. We specialize in helping patients transition to safer, more sustainable pain management strategies. Many of our patients successfully manage pain with minimal or no opioids.
